agreed. They just don't have the CCA's that a starting battery has. There are some dual purpose batteries out there that are supposed to be the best of both.

Yes, if it meets the min CCA needs for cranking your motor.
Depending on your electronics, lights, livewells needs, it may likely weigh more than a more suitable so called dual purpose having fewer reserve minutes.
