Hey everyone. I've ventured from the bass fishing side to try my luck at some gar fishing. I tried fishing the Arroyo Colorado in Harlingen this morning, but I didn't have any bites. I'm using mullet and was fishing it on the bottom. I was thinking about trying down in Rio Hondo near the boat ramp this afternoon. Has anybody ever had much luck here? Do you think I should fish on the bottom or under a float?
I'm thinking about taking my light rod with some small beetle spins to try and catch fresh bait too. I didn't see anywhere in the regs that said I can't do this.
Any tips would be great!
