Birds have been working all week early morning south of Crappie Island. Some fish showing up on shallow (10-15 fow) structures (Key Ranch Drop-off, Saint Annes East) but biggest concentrations still on deep structures (22 to 25 fow tops with deeper water around them) such as East Hump, Mid-lake Hump and Greenhouse Ridge. Catching mostly 13 to 16 inch sandies with some small hybrids, yellows, cats and a legal hybrid or two. I use #4 Mepps on deep humps and #2 on shallower structures. Good luck to all this Memorial Day weekend and stay safe!

We were on the lake early this morning at daylight. I finally talked one of the guys into getting up early. I am glad we did the fish were schooling early from daylight till 7.30 at key ranch in about 5 ft if water. Headed back to Hubbard this afternoon. All of our fish were caught on McQueen tail spinners from Moe's tackle. We seen several guides in this area having their clients throwing small jigs but the tailspinners out fished them 3 to 1.
