Personally im a big fan of the All-Star ASM series rods. Academy has em online for 80 bucks right now. Theyre usually 130 i believe. I have several and never had an issue.

Re: 13 Fishing Crankenstein

Yes, I have one. It is good not great. If I have it on the deck with a Shimano Calais-5 next to Dobyns Champion 805 CB RM with same reel, I will pick up the Dobyns.

$80 cheaper than Dobyns. Good backup.

If you break 3 rods a trip, regardless of brand, you're doing something wrong.

I personally am not a huge fan of the 13 fishing rods because they feel heavy to me. I used to fish Falcon rods before I got bored and switched over to all Dobyn's and I had probably 4 Bucoo's. To me they were better than my Lowriders and honestly on par with the Cara's I owned. It's going to be tough to beat them in the 100 dollar category, pick up one in the store and try it out.

Which has more action(flimsy)? Veritas or 13 omen? I've never held or used the 13 fishing omen.
I do own the Veritas and I think the vendetta has more action. (Flimsy yet still durable)
Thanks!

TFO rods come in at the $100 price point. Picked up a 7'6" one piece ML spinning rod this week that I can't wait to fish.

Here are a couple of choices that I have a lot of confidence in. The first is the Abu Garcia Veritas rods and my second choice is the Fenwick HMG rods. Both are light weight and very sensitive.
