I'm looking to buy a new reel since my old reel broke. I'm mainly going to be fishing saltwater with an occasional bass trip. I like the features and price of the Revo S but I'm afraid if it will get corroded in the salt chasing reds. Will it be ok with just a rinse and occasional lube? I would get the Revo Inshore but a little to costly for me right now.

It'll work for a while but you'll get corrosion over the long haul. The bearings aren't salt rated either but can be changed for some that are when they go away.

The bearings on the end of the worm gear will be the 1st ones to go.

Do you guys think I should bite the bullet and save up for the Inshore or get the S and get the Inshore later?

You got a choice, go cheap and replace as needed or spend a bit more for a reel that is built to last in the salt. I've been using my Lew's SS1HL (lefty, SS1 or SS1H for you rightys) at the coast for over a year with no ill effects. Just rinse ASAP after each use and hit it with WD40 and wipe. You can get these online now for $79-$89 and Lew's is doing a rebate for $20 bringing the price down to 60-70$ in your hands. Lots of dudes are using their Academy Mettles in the salt. Another reel I use in the salt is a Daiwa Coastal (CL153H, not the new Zillion coastal unless you got money to burn). Good compromise between cost and build quality. Older reel but absolutely bulletproof. You can find these new for < 120 and used for around 70.

I think I'm gonna get the Revo S but eventually I'll bite the bullet and get the Inshore. I considered the SX over the S but I'd rather have the centrifugal brake than magnetic. Thanks guys!

Okay to use on the exterior but remember, it is a solvent and will dilute or remove any protective oil on the exterior. If you must spray something on the exterior, use something like Rem Oil. Shop will reopen soon. We have moved.

Update: I went to Gander Mountain (2 miles away ) and I felt all the reels they had. If you are contemplating getting ANY of the Abu Garcia Revo reels, go feel them in a store. The Revo series have great specs and are extremely smooth in store but the flaw and ultimate downfall to these reels in my opinion is the ergonomics. Revos have these huge gearboxes and while that isn't exactly a bad thing, they either forgot or just didn't think about the edge of the gearboxes. When I palmed the reel I immediately noticed that the edge of the gearbox is a straight edge and sticks out to the point of annoyance. Even when I put it on a rod, it still felt off. Saying this, I did adjust my grip slightly and it didn't bother me but I don't want to think about my grip when I'm out on the water. I then felt the Shimano Citica and NEW Shimano Curado 200I (the reel I'm getting, SICK REEL!) and Shimano made a diagonal angled edge instead of a straight edge which makes it way more ergonomic. So, if you are intending on buying a Revo whether it be a S, SX, or STX (I can't speak for the others) make sure you go to a tackle shop and make sure you are ok with the feel of the reel. Thanks!
