I'm writing a story for Lone Star Outdoor News about hunting for your own fly tying materials (pheasant, buck tail, duck feathers, etc.) and wanted to put it on the forum to see if anyone knows a fly-fisherman who uses materials from his/her own hunts. Preferably someone who has been doing it a long time and lives in Texas. Shoot me a message if you have any ideas or leads, thanks!

I kept some of a turkey I shot a couple years ago, still using it.
 It's more than the catfish would do.

I use a lot of feathers from hunting in England when I lived there and before I moved here permanently. I shipped all my fly tying materials over as I could not bear to see 30 years of collecting get left behind. Dont know if this counts as they are not from Texas, lol

Steve - Texas bucktail...
Much better texture than northern.
Available from deer processors, especially Hill Country - by the sack full.
Nasty but nice after washing, borax, and drying tacked on a board ..used it for years - good stuff!
