Ok, so the old house in Portland is sale pending. Toy Box, aka shed, is going up around the 1st of July. I need to get serious about buying a boat.

1. I told my wife I'd like to keep it under $60k ready to fish.
2. I'd like a 24' CC boat but I'm pretty sure that my budget doesn't allow for that.
3. Things I gotta have. I-Pilot trolling motor, Humminbird Onix not sure if I need the CI SI or just the CI, hard top, either T or K, trim tabs, jack plate, washdown, anti-drowning ladder, at least one 12' talon. I'll be fishing this boat 3-4 days a week most of the year. Is there anything I've forgotten?
4. I'll mostly be fishing the lakes local to Kaufman. I will be taking trips to Texoma and occasionally down to the salt and/or lakes further away.
5. I'd prefer a dealer within 50 miles of home.

This is the first boat I've bought in over 30 years. First boat this size. I'd appreciate any and all help from the members of TFF.

Prefer to stay away from boats that have spent time in the salt. Would really like to buy new. A Sea Hunt BX 22 BR comes in pretty close to my budget.

I went to see Tommy today. That Epic is a nice looking boat. I'm 99% sure that my search is over.

Take a look at the CC Gator Bay boats at www.progator.com . I have a 2100 RG and have really enjoyed it. Strong safe boat.

Those are nice looking. Biggest problem is there is no local dealer.

Do your research on that epic before you make a purchase. That's all I'm saying. The sea hunt is a much better built boat.

On a side note, have you looked at the 25sc?

You're looking at $8k just in the talon, bird, ipilot and ktop.

If you have the cash in hand, it will save you to purchase those things outright, IF you have a dealer worth a flip to install them. The guys at Haynie are installing my ipilot, merc monitor gauge, gamin 741xs, stereo/amp/speakers free of charge since it's normally included in the sale. Kicker is its cost me $2900 cash but saved me $498 in the long run.
