Washing machine line is most likly blocked. Try a snake it out. Also the washing machine my be run separate as most old homes in the country do. The lines that filter the water back into the ground may be filled with soap. If so time to connect the line back to the septic or city sewer. Or run a new lateral line

I have the same problem If we wash more than 2 loads back to back, The washer puts out lots of water at one time and It take my lines awhile to drain off. We live out in country so I just dug another hole at end of line and filled with rocks, hole about size if 55 gal barrel, or whatever gallon size they are.

I know this probably isn't the solution you're looking for, but I'll throw it out there anyway. The new energy star washing machines use significantly less water than older ones. The older ones can use 40-50 gallons per cycle. IIRC, the new ones are required to use 13 gallons or less for all their cycles, and they use even less than that on the quick cycles.

We are on a septic. Had my washing machine gray water running to a separate line that drained in its own drain field. After a few years I had the same problem. The perf pipe was clogged with crud from washing the clothes. We bought the new high efficiency washer and hooked the line back to septic, and all is well now.
