I live in durant and have a little 15 ft boat and a few times a year i take my wife from willow springs to resovelt bridge to fish for strippers with SLABS =)...is it that time of year? I dont have a huge boat to run the lake so any information about where to catch them on slabs is appreciated. thanks

Take topwaters and fish points early morning/late evening.

I don't fish there, but have been slabbing for a few weeks now with great success on Bridgport and Eagle Mountain.

Slabs are a good bait anytime. Adjust your speed and depth and you should catch some fish. Tie a jig with a stout hook above and who knows. There are a lot of ways to catch fish. Throw some top waters and try something new.....

Things seem to be a bit late this year Ttown. Randy wood is correct, slabs work year round, just adjust speed and depth fished. Texoma is rolling on TopWater, and swimbaits at the moment. Sassy Shad, CocaMoe Minnows on 1/2, 3/4, and 1oz Jig Heads will do the trick. I really don't understand why Striper Anglers this Swimbaits are a tuff lure to fish? If you have throw spinnerbaits for Bass or tail spinners for white bass you can fish sassy shad. Slab Season will soon begin. Watch the TFF for reports. If ya need some I have a few layN around

Moe is correct. A bit late is correct it seems, I keep a log and this time for the last several years it has been very different, there has been almost no slab bite, very few birds, there were a few earlier in the year, the dead stick bite was short this year, surfacing activity has not been much yet hopefully it will kick off soon, the bite gets great then we have a weather change and it seems to take awhile to get back good again. The water temp took longer this year to warm up also. This is based on Tawakoni as I have not been able to fish Texoma as much as I did in the years past. Maybe the later bite will give us better fishing all summer without the August dead time.
