Looks like the Cottonwood are shedding & haven't been out in several weeks & thought I'd see if the channel cats are biting from the bank tomorrow or Friday.
Was planning on trying on the rip rap at the old Garza dam, Shady Shores or Oak Point.
Anyone have thoughts on where they're biting right now?

That's why I was thinking that the rocks on the old Garza Dam would be good.

Well, no other responses, so I think it's time to go find some rocks & fish shallow.

Kingfisher, did you go out last night or today? Any luck? I'm thinking of taking my son tonight...was considering the end of lakeshore blvd in oak point. It looks like there are rocks there on google maps.

The fish are staying right up against the rocks. If your fishing over six ft from the bank bite will be slow. They are liking range cubes right now

Thanks for the tip. I dont have any range cubes I'm afraid. Are there any second-best options?

Yes, fished at Oak Point today for several hours. No dice using Stubby's. Tried fishing under a float and on the bottom, right at the point up close to the rocks. Didn't think to bring some range cubes. Another couple fishing next to me wasn't catching either. Guess I must have been there when the kitties were out to lunch! Story of my life lately. Hope to try again before the weekend was over.

Hey 30 Ft - nice to see you on here. And again, thanks for that castnet throwing lesson at Cottonwood. Yep, the sandstone rocks is where I was fishing, very close to the rocks. Also fished that little, beach like area just to the left, but nothing there either. There is also the other very rocky point to the south of the main point where the boat ramp is. Be a bit of a walk from the main point, but worth checking out if you don't mind the walk. I picked up a bag of range cubes at the feed store several years ago - I have 2 large plastic buckets filled with the stuff. Maybe I need to start using some of it! Going to try to drag the wife back out this weekend. If I can find 'em I can catch 'em, but so far, finding them has been eluding me!
