When I bought my kayak I picked up just a cheap 30$ paddle from academy and after 3 trips I can hear it cracking and can spin one of the paddles around on the shaft. What would yall recommend in that price range Thanks.

Bending Branches (Slice Glass paddle), Werner (Baja paddle), and AquaBound (Stingray paddle) with a fiberglass shaft are $100-$120, those are good brands. Check out prices and reviews online at Austin Kayak.

I have the bending branches angler scout and I like it because I often get hung up on stuff so it has saved me a few times. Sometimes you can email someone selling a kayak and offer to buy their paddle because alot of times they just include it in the kayak purchase. Id check craigslist. You can probably end up with a better paddle for the price.

Bending Branches Scout Angler Paddle is a good paddle for the $$$. Give Mariner Sails or Angler Pro Tackle a visit for a view of great selections.

Here is an Aqua-Bound Manta Ray Hybrid hybrid in 210, 220 and 230 cm length on sale at REI for $112. This is a fiber reinforced plastic blade with a carbon fiber shaft. If the length is sufficient for you, you won't find a better deal. I have one of these in a 250 cm length, and it's a great paddle, and my first choice when I need a big blade (over 20% bigger than my BB Angler Classic). Most paddles with carbon fiber shafts start at $200. Shipping is free if you have it sent to a store.
