I have the luxury of being able to come to Lake Fork and spend about 8 days of fishing on this glorious body of water once again. Last time down I was with my father, brother and I. Unfortunately that was the last time my father was able to come down and he succumbed to cancer last year. Now we are making the trip again in honor of my father and hopefully he will bless us with some good fishing. I got a buddy who survived cancer that I get to spend the time with as well to make it even more special. Only thing to top it off would be good fishing weather and a double digit bass. Main thing is for me , being able to see my buddy and give him a hug; and then cast a line in my dad's honor with the last rod and reel combo he purchased. I know he will be smiling down on us from above.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on what type of lures to throw and maybe a spot or two to give a shot at. Nothing spectacular as your spots will be safe once I am gone lol. I live in IL and realize to catch BIG bass I need to travel. So any hints or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Frogs around the grass on the shallow bank edges early. Look for deeper structure like humps and ledges as the day progresses. Deep cranks, flutter spoons and heavy football head jigs are some baits that should produce in the right spots. If you get bored find a school of sand bass around any of the bridges and do the world a favor and keep a limit of them dudes. Good fishing and hope you catch a biggun for your Dad.

Frog and spook early. Deep diver, heavy jig and c rig after noon. You'll catch em.

Try to fish in the 15-20 foot range right now.
