If any of you have used both, which do you like better? I have several Heliums but have never tried out a KLX.

all I know is that the z-bones are the freaking bomb!

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

Which Helium? I prefer the KLX to the 2nd gen Heliums but the current generation are a made with a lighter and more sensitive blank.

Can't go wring with either. Its a price point question, if I could afford it I'd have zbones or heliums instead of KLX rods, but for my $ its hard to justify and the KLX already fish better than I can.

I have the new helium3 and 3 KLX series rods and couldn't ask for better feeling for the price they are both exceptional, I call them the "working mans rods" the KLX is just a tad lighter but the helium has more back
Bone! It all really just depends what u like but they are both great to me and couldn't ask for nicer people or better customer service!

Thanks.

I have several of the Gen. 1 Heliums that I really like. I was just wondering how the KLX compared to them.

I did not like the Gen. 2 Helium with the non cork grip, it was some type of rough black foam.

Yeah their darn sure good rods and won me quit a bit of $$$$ this year!! The only thing the KLX lacks is the hook keeper that the helium has but still a great rod for a great price, if u go to their shop you will see Trey Kistler himself along with other family building the rods themselves and he will let u pick up any rod in the shop until u find one you like.

Yeah we went there so I could get a rod and he ended up with one too and now I'm in the process of going to all helium and z bone flipping rods and KLX for moving baits, paired with a shimano core it's the most light and balanced rod I've ever used.

Cant go wrong with either one, its just a matter of how much you are willing to spend. I have 8 KLX and 1 Helium 3, I prefer the KLX.

I have both and I really like the KLX for the price. Like others have said if price is not part of your decision then go with H3 or Z-Bone. Either way you won't be sorry with any of the Kistler rods. Good luck in your decision.

The H3 blanks are faster actions, bend is closer to the tip. KLX rods are a little soft. Need to select a power up when picking out a KLX. Both are great rods
