First Trip to Pines??

My dad is going to Pines this weekend to try to catch some crappie. I don't know much on the crappie side of Pines does anybody have any info they would share?? Thanks

Yea, the yella bass will keep you busy! Seriously, I have been there exactly one time in my life (this year) during the winter, which was a spectacle in and of itself...sorry I don't know the lake well enough to help, maybe someone will though...

I haven't been up there in a couple of weeks, but on the last trip the crappie were back out on timber along the edge of the river channel. He will have to experiment a little to find what depth they are holding.

Tommie, when u mean river channel, are you taking about near 155, midlake, or south end of main lake?? Thanks!!

Tommie, when u mean river channel, are you taking about near 155, midlake, or south end of main lake?? Thanks!! He's probably referring to the area around the dam. That's where they bite in the winter when you can walk boat to boat.

Look mid lake in the timber find the 20+ ft water and start at 10 ft down and work it to the bottom slowly till you can find the depth they are holding at. I usually like to pick the bigger diameter trees. Good luck
