Hello Folks I am new to this Forum and looking for the GPS coordinates for the COE brush piles. I was told to PM Ernest Paty but I am a Newbie to Forums and I do not know how. I bought a New Humminbird Helix 7 and want to put GPS coordinates on it to help me find those finicky Crappie.
Ernest Paty if You are reading this Please send me an E mail.

Per the previous posts above, Ernest handed out a list of confirmed waypoints for RayBob a few meetings ago. Miss you Mack! Wow, this post reflects what the old TFF used to be. It's like a time capsule!

Just moved back to Denton area after about fifteen years away. Used to fish RR a bunch and frequently the Brush Piles.
There are more than a few BP's that are more than a few yards off the marked site. There are also a couple that are not there in spite of being designated. My problem with the BP's was back in the day that they are located in areas that are really close to Launching Ramps and therefore you are going to be fighting jet skis, water skiers, and ~shudder~ joy riders. Not that those folks do not have a right to the lake too, just saying that it is hard to drown minnows or dance jigs if you are getting bunches of folks ripping by just a few yards away.
I had my best luck if I was fishing open water was to drown a couple of hay bales or other home made piles out of the way of the folks not fishing.
My question is are the big COE BP's still holding fish or have they rotted away?
I am usually the poster boy for those who rag on the COE for going out of their way to screw things up but I have to give them credit for the way they built RR. By that I mean they did not bulldozed and then burn every piece of timber on the lake but rather leaving a bunch of timber standing and what they knocked down a big portion of them them were created into fish cover. If you cannot catch fish on RR then you just cannot catch fish. Of course that info is dated but I still feel confident I could catch a few on good ol RR.
Another poster made reference to shooting ducks on RR and I am hear to attest that it used to at least be a great duck hunting lake, IF you invested some time in scouting. I am confident that my old duck hunting holes would still produce since they were mostly dependent on the lake being at Pool Level. I am going to get out in the next couple of weeks to find out.
Back to crappie fishing I used to do my best work on Indian Creek which was very good but strangely I used to see very few Crappie fisherman up in Indian a bunch of Bass Fishermen but they have the big rigs essential in getting all the way up to Indian. The little guy with a small jon boat has a hard time getting to places like Indian because of the length of the boat ride. That is my main beef with the COE on RR the lack of access for the little guy who does not want to fight open water.
