Thanks y'all. This trip came just in time. Just found out I will be a first time father in about 7 months so will probably have to slow down the fishing for a while. Not out of the game completely tho. I have focused on fishing the river (upper and middle) almost exclusively this year. Watching Shane reminds me I have a lot to learn. I look forward to broadening my horizons and working on the "fundamentals" that can be applied no matter the water body. Great post. Shane is da man for sure.
Don't overlook the fly fishing opportunities here in Texas.
You would be amazed at what we catch on the fly around here. Jerry, it's not lost on me what you guys can do...I just have a hard time purposely handicapping myself any more than I already am. Y'all have my respect.

Y'all have my respect. It's no handicap once you learn that it's no different than conventional tackle. It's that "fly fishing is for trout" thing that handicaps folks. Fly fishing is "fishing"!!!
