all of my rods got stolen! I am so unbelievably livid right now. I'm anxious to get fishing again but need some cheap rod alternatives right now. I have a fair amount of spare reels, but I need all new rods. Which rods, if any, are any good in the 50 dollar price range? Don't have much money to spend right now.

Those old tried and true Lightning Rods are about 30 bucks or so. They feel like they have a lead core when compared to a nice St Croix or some other graphite rod but if you're strong enough to use them they'll catch plenty of fish.

I am in Austin right now in school. I occasionally get back up to the dfw area if my schedule allows.

If you get up this way {DFW} PM me or EOB, we can probably get with Trickster and some others to get you a few rods to get back home with.

Thanks alot Stax I'll keep that in mind. It may be a while before I head up that way so in the mean time I'll see what I can find at Academy.

The Daiwa Laguna rods should help out from Academy. Pretty good rods for the money.

My cousin was at academy yesterday and he said the All Star rods were on sale so he bought one... they are cheap and for the price, they are very good!

Good luck
