I fish it almost like EZ. Baitcaster, 12 lbs line, 1/4 oz weight. Year round. Medium rod with a good tip.
Caught more fish and won more money on that set up than anything I’ve ever fished.

There was a guy on here that used to talk about dropping rigs with big heavy weights into deep grass…

I have a dobyns 742dx I think it is, that I use for heavy shakey heads, maybe I’ll rig it up for drop shots too

I like a 7'3 MH EXTRA Fast for 15lb brand to 8lb flouro on a Stella 3000HG, Now if we are fishing super clear stuff 7'3 M Fast with 10lb braid to 6lb flouro on a Stella 2500HG.

It only took 3 replies for this to go south. A fairly new member with 150 post ask a legitimate question. Yet Minner Bucket comes out of the closet to tell us he is gay. He couldn't wait for a few more replies. I guess a drop shot post just sent him over the edge. I realize that joking around can be fun. And I enjoy it to. But this thread like many others is a great example of what's wrong with this forum. There were some really helpful replies. He'll I learned a few things. Hobgood12, it's not always like this. There are some really good fisherman here that will help you. But unfortunately they are getting fewer and fewer. And of course they are going to start on me. Which is fine because others words mean nothing to me.

It’s great having angry old guys on here, gives me something NOT to look forward to. What exactly do you contribute to the forum?

Hobgood12,

Sorry for taking part in your thread being hijacked. I hope you’ll forgive me.

I’ve gone shopping for you, I think this is a hi quality rod that will fit what you’re looking for, at a price that’s within your budget.

I’ve had good luck with Shimano spinning rods.

Good look with whatever you decide on

cheers
