This controversy plays into both Ben and Randy's source of income.

We will only see if it has any impact once FFS becomes the norm and over several years. Its just too new and not enough people are using it to know now. Just wait till the cost drops off so the meat fishermen start using it.

This is a post that is dated about 4 years. Meat fishermen already have it. I bet 9 of 10 crappie boats have FFS and probably 7.5 to 8 of 10 bass boats have it as well.

I will say it’s quite profound when a guy like David Fritts says he can’t get them on a crank anymore ….

If the livescope debbie downers theories are true then the fish will be pushed back to the bank next season biting nothing but jigs and square bills.

How cheap does I have to get? It’s already less than $999. It’s less expensive then the rods and reels I use. roflmao

My thoughts exactly! roflmao

An old guy not longer catching fish the same way he used to, something we have seen before, I think.

When you consider inflation its probably cheaper than the si units when they came out and this is much easier to use and read.

I hear ya, but I heard him talking like even outside of tournaments, going fishing on his home lake, he was saying fish are relating different to structure and he’s catching less on cranks. No doubt old age could have something to do with it.

I just sold a Garmin 1022 and an LVS32 trandsducer and GLS10 for $1100. You can find some smoking deals right now since many are upgrading to LVS34. You can get brand new touch screen Garmin 12" units for less than $1500 right now too. You can get into a LVS34 and 12" Garmin for $2500-2700 if you shop around a bit and wait on a deal.

Clickbait. Both Milliken and Randy have figured out how to get the views they need on youtube and people keep playing right in to it

I think back to the days when I got my first flasher. I was excited to be able to use it to find fish.

Technology advances and we move with it. Rotary phone to I phone you get it and adjust and learn how to use it.

Side imagining was the same thing everyone said I will catch more fish now that I can find everyones brush piles. To funny.

I enjoy watching FFS but I can tell you it can slow down a day of catching as well. I have some days I just turn it off and go fishing.

I have caught many of fish before FFS so I just do what I do.

I agree it can be a valuable tool to catch but even better to see if anything is in the area before you even cast which can save time on the water.

To each is his own choice . IMO

I remember when cars started coming out with airbags. Everyone complained about deployment - busted my nose, fills car with smoke, broke my finger, etc, etc.
Today - I get asked "why didn't my airbag go off? I could have been injured!"
Today - there are cars that correct you when you change lanes without a blinker, slow your car on cruise when you get to close to the car in front of you, auto-park, auto-dimming lights, vibrate the seats if you look away from the road, actually will "drive" for you on the highway, etc, etc.
Is all that allowing younger drivers to all become NASCAR or F1 drivers equivalent?
I work in a body shop - I can guarantee that all these advancements have not caused my business to slow down at all.

I don't think FFS is going to kill fishing either.
Embrace or don't embrace the technology - it's not going to stop coming.

A bit more than that, but it’s new. BPS has the 93 (9”) for $699 and the 106 (10”) for $999, the lvs32 is around $999. They were having a 15% sale on Mondays. I ended up buying a 106 for $850”ish” and the lvs34 came out to about $1400.

I know it’s expensive, but the lvs34 is worth the extra money over the lvs32. But, the lvs32 gets you in the game.

And as mentioned, used saves quite a bit more.
