Oldgringo,
(Collect Insurance)
The big money talks. I know one group of Million to Billionaires in Washington right now trying to get legislation passed to force the Corp to sell them some land they want for developement. It is the only undeveloped area in the Little Mineral arm. A group already did this on the Oklahoma side. I know atleast one Federal Game Warden that does not want this to happen.

Any body ever thought of getting their boats trailer up and driving a protest around the HQ of the Corps of Engineers? With fuel costs the way they are might be tough but i would be willing!! They did it in Austin and that fella sure got recognized at the Ft. Worth Boat show by Nitro Boats a few years back driving his boat around the Will Rogers Auditorium. One better anyone willing to get a news crew in the boat and see if you can get one of those bogus tickets...do a precheck prior to getting on the water on camera and see if they can cite you then...that would sure raise some eyebrows? Just some thoughts...I agree with you and the NRA,...when they pry my cold dead hands from my fishing rod will I quit flipping docks!

Have you THANKED a SOLDIER lately?!

Jeff,
Right now the Marina's are trying to bluff people out of fishing marina's. On the Texas side Game Wardens will not enforce a no fishing rule unless you are the problem. The Tulsa District Real Estate division is corrupt and they are a member of the Oklahoma MArina's owners association. That in mind is a conflict of intrest. IF anyone out there can call the a Senator and actually get to talk to them I would love that chance. It seems that any time any post on here about a politcal issue that takes real effort not very many people get involved. Until it affects them they do not care. This will start being more common in Texas unless we get the US senators to hear us. I have never recieved a response from anyone at any office. It is sad that unless your a big money guy you can not get call back.

I think Oklahoma is getting plenty of help from Texas through blue chip high school recruits. If O.U. will stop depending on Texas football talent to carry thier program then maybe some people with some political clout will step up and help them in issue's such as this one.

O.K. Chill out, all you Okie's. I'm just getting into the spirit of Texas-O.U. weekend a little early. I actually love catching all them little bitty Okie bass.

this is federal law, the coe can not usurp it and declare they rule things. all navigable waterways in the u.s. are public and no one can say different. if one owns the land under the water they can keep you off the bottom but not the water. NO ONE owns the water on texoma to the extent they can deny you the use of it.

tell them to pound sand if you are in your boat and not trespassing, they can not deny you the use of the lake just because some homeowner got their panties in a wad

Navigable waters of the United States
Navigable waters of the United States are those waters that are subject to the ebb and flow of the tide and/or are presently used, or have been used in the past, or may be susceptible for use to transport interstate or foreign commerce. A determination of navigability, once made, applies laterally over the entire surface of the waterbody, and is not extinguished by later actions or events which impede or destroy navigable capacity.

The Courtneys went to court, citing Section One of the Fourteenth Amendment, which states in part that “[n]o state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States.” The Supreme Court addressed the meaning of the Fourteenth Amendment, just four years after it was ratified, in The Slaughter-House Cases, in which the Court identified the “right to use the navigable waters of the United States” as among the privileges and immunities of citizenship.
