Dont think they made 8N in 52.

1952 was the last year for them.

My neighbor rebuilds them. Does about 1 a month complete with new paint. He's done a few Jubilee's and 9N's. Last time I talked to him about it at the beginning of summer he had done about 45 in the last 6 years. Sells them for around $3K.
Those can go and go! I've seen them with big welds on the block still running great! Too small for a baler, can probably move a round bale on the rear, only small ones on a front loader.

It's a great tractor.

An hour per acre!!!???
Yeah....I take about an hour an acre. I got a lot of singing to do while I'm mowing...and even in rabbit mode, that tractor ain't all that fast.

Tractors seem to be the same as the ford I grew up driving but have also changed a lot. My lot is mostly level ground except the hill the house was built on. Ill eventually have up to 6 horses when I get the fencing in.

John Deere, Kubota, Kioti, Mahindra, New Holland are all good Tractors. I would suggest if you are cutting that much grass about 35-40 HP..

That is a great tractor. Its worth 30k because they hold value very well. If the a/c works, grab it.

Ive never understood the compact tractor market. Not near worth 30K but that is where the market is! Hobby farmers and wannabes have money to blow I guess.
In my opinion with your horses you plan to get, they will keep it pretty mowed down. I personally would hire someone to come in and Bushog and spray it if need be. Buy a zero turn and off to the races you go. I wouldnt waste money on a tractor for 9 acres. If you do end up getting a tractor, dont waste money on a front end loader. With the size you are looking at it will do you zero good. Feed square bales to the horses.

If I were in your shoes, and you are just mowing grass, a zero turn would be my first buy.

The 6 horses would more of a money pit than any tractor you might buy.
