Bunch of no names. Not many of the good ones want to come to DFW to play. Was thinking about going 1 day but not after seeing who was playing.

colonial and the Nelson unfortunately are dead tours. Tx is too hot and only the scrubs play them.

The PGA Championship is moving to March. The Players Championship moving to May and will be this weekend next year. They are going to split up the BN and the Fort Worth next year. I don't know which will be first the BN or FT Worth. They are talking about doing one on mothers day weekend then The Players then the other DFW pga stop. Whichever one gets the stop after The Players is pretty well screwed.

That's the rumor anyway.

just took a look at this ridiculously easy 9 hole course. No rough, huge fairways, gigantic greens. it will be driver, 60 dg wedge on every hole. All par 5s will be on in 2 and a record number of eagles. winner might hit -30 under.

I was scheduled for Saturday but had to cancel. Ms. Caldwell fell and broke her hip yesterday so I'm filling in as the bingo caller for the tournament at the VFW hall this weekend.

It�s far from an easy course when the wind blows and it�s firm and fast. I�ve played it twice and it�s brutal in the wind. Rumor I�ve heard is that they are in the running to host a PGA Championship in the foreseeable future.

They built another golf course on the Trinity River bottom.

It�s not easy, but they are watering it down to slow it down, plus there is no wind until the weekend. It�s different, and that�s the biggest factor. I think that�s why they�re watering the greens down. They want guys to be able to aim at flag sticks, not warm up for the British Open.

The Press Maxwell designed Sleepy Hollow. He is the famous golf course architect that also designed Prairie Dunes and Southern Oaks. Sleepy Hollow (previously named Riverlake GC) was effected by the Trinity River multiple times�-plans for the Trinity River project closed it for good. RIP Sleepy Hollow

I fear the new �links� layout down there is doomed from the start. It doesn�t look right with no trees on the course, but the entire perimeter thick with oaks and Hackberry. It will suffer periods of drought and looking dry and brown surrounded by wilting and dying trees. Then periods of flood when the Trinity swells to temporarily turn the course into a swamp

Thats backwards oh guru of golf. The players championship (played last weekend) is moving back to march. The PGA championship is moving to may from its normal late summer.

I'm sure it had some "economic incentives" from the city. I believe it's in S Dallas now, correct? There in lies your answer. Why would they want a golf tournament in Las Colinas, where all that potential economic culture is already in place...I mean who would want to go to Cool River for a beer, or all those restaurants?

Heck I am sure there are some nice hotels nearby in Pleasant Grove . I am like several who commented above no clue why they would move this out of Las Colinas.

The venue was awesome, typical it aint broke don't fix it!!! A friend is there working a beer tent for charity, foot traffic is way down from the 4 Seasons course, no people, sucks big time for vendors, no outlying businesses getting any revenue, Irving was the perfect venue smdh!!.

The BN is dead!

They just guaranteed this event will be replaced shortly, laughable that they changed the venue, at a resort, smack in the middle of an awesome district, fools!!

You might be right. I heard somebody say that when the wind blows at this course it is much harder. Problem is, there isn�t any wind this weekend.

Thats BS, its a super easy course. Wind doesnt effect pros like it does us. maybe the winner would be -24 under with the wind. Huge fairways.

They lieterally just said on the TV coverage that the course was playing tougher and scoring average is up today because of the wind.

Well, the wind will howl tomorrow. I am planning on fishing. The wind blows excessively when I go fishing.

Got to see some of this last night. Doesn�t look very appealing on TV. Why make something ugly on purpose? I don�t like the trend of these courses especially in the U S Open. I want to see grass that has been fertilized, watered and groomed.

It's built on top of an illegal landfill that has been there for like 50 years. I worked at the fire station that is first due in that area for 9 years, back in the 90's.

That dump burned for around a year back in the mid 90's. It took lots of hours and millions of dollars to put it out.

Lord knows what kind of toxins are buried under that course...

They are not allowed to plant any trees because it's roots will break the cap of that landfill. Also, they expect the greens to shift and crack, that is what land on top of a cap does, it moves.
I'd suggest leaving the tee's in the ground too.(golfers know what I'm talking about)

It is built on top of a landfill. The course architects/designers (Crenshaw/Coors) weren�t able to use any of their usual earth moving equipment when building the course (so as not to disrupt the cap)

They also had lengthy issues with regulations and the Dallas city counsel

Coors is on record that the process was a complete beating and he�d never do a project like that again

The story of the day was wind. Seemed like that�s what the announcers were talking about and the players were asked about it and said it played a big factor.

Playing golf on a [censored] shute is not appealing, I'll stick to colonial

I went to the Trinity Forest website and there is NO fee or reservation information, just several drop downs menu options telling you how great the place is.....
