How many shooters were on psych drugs? Not this [censored] again It's absolutely relevant. They were obviously under medical/mental care if they were on prescription drugs.

Looks like living in places with long, cold, dark winters makes people cray cray. Wonder what the mental health spending is like in Scandinavian countries?

I think if people saw something and said something it would go a long way. For instance, let’s say this kid was acting irrationally and posting crazy s on the internet and someone reported them to the FBI. They would investigate and possibly prevent this sort of thing. People need to speak up and trust our law enforcement agencies to handle up. Someone DID speak up and report him, it didn't go where it should have obviously. I absolutely agree that they should have followed up on the tip. I think he already had the guns at the time of the tip. But what kind of tangible evidence would they had to have to remove his guns or prevent him from buying more.

Speaking from a LEO perspective and from my wife being a Registered Nurse, there is help out there. She works at Parkland. You have to want the help though. Sure they can go see a psychiatrist but then what? Medication, special housing, counseling, psychologist.

Gee, next we can require mental health evaluations in order to purchase a car (actually may not be a bad idea).

Hope this stays civil so it doesn't end up in bunker. It has nothing to do with civil. When threads turn in to a political debate, they are moved to The Bunker. Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't sure what triggered the removal.

Personally, I am very suspicious of mental screenings, etc. I undertake a self-imposed three-day waiting period and conduct a self-mental evaluation before I eat at Burger and Fries in Sulphur Springs. So far, neither have worked at all.

I would say this though from my professional encounters, most of the time they stop taking their medication or run out of it and don't get it refilled.
