Grout he is adding GMC and Chevy together. GM has to make two models to compete with Ford in sales.

Yeah I find those numbers; but does that combine heavy duty & light duty trucks? Seems like it would be broke down into model lines.

You'd think with them (GM) selling sooooo many trucks that they wouldn't have needed that govt handout. Oh, they are gonna be mad now.... Calm down all of you ugly Chevy truck owners, we are still bashing Toyota in this thread somewheres.

Can't find anything current but the trend looks about the same from 2012. It surprises me. I started counting around the neighborhood the other day and the Fords almost equaled all other brands put together.

I started counting around the neighborhood the other day and the Fords almost equaled all other brands put together. That's how it is here as well. Mostly F150's, then F250's with several F350's. Very rare to see a newer 3/4 - 1 ton Chevrolets around here. Do see a few GMC's though. I guess I should note that I live in a ultra rich county where money seems to mean nothing to most of these people. Nice! I'm surprised Dodge is doing that well, gotta be the love for the Cummins.

I don't know about the trims but it's been my experience that unless you get what's on the lot, you usually have to pay a premium. It would be worth the upgrade imo.
Looked at local Chevy 1500's and out of 112 listed, two had the 6.2L. The cheapest was $47k msrp. I can't believe how many have a 4.3l! I gave $35,000.00 for mine but had to order it, LTZ 6.2 with the 8 speed, lots of power and also great mileage if you don't have a lead foot.

I don't understand why the 6.2l isn't more popular, RJE. Seems like a good engine.

Calm down all of you ugly Chevy truck owners, we are still bashing Toyota in this thread somewheres. Thank you, I'm very happy with it. In the first two and a half months I've owned it its made a trip to East Texas pulling the boat and another trip to Grand Lake in Oklahoma pulling the boat averaged 16.5MPG on that trip. Then made another trip to Enid Oklahoma not pulling the boat averaged 19.5MPG that one and a couple more trips to East Texas all before hitting 6k miles. It isn't even broke in yet and I'm very happy with the fuel economy so far. Coming from two F150's with 5.4L where the 97 averaged 13.5MPG towing or empty or the 06 that did 13 towing and 16-17 highway to me can only get better. Oh well my sister still has retirement stock in Exxon Mobil I help contributing to.

Maybe so, I have not had the chance to roll in the new Hemis, I know the Chevrolets are slugs though (even empty, ugly too).
So, anybody have any theories as to why the EcoBoost isn't in a 3/4 ton platform? You must be blind in one eye and can't see out of the other, the GM's are the best looking trucks out there and the 6.2 I have is certainly not a slug, besides that they are the top selling full sized trucks this year at least through October. I think the GM's look sharp myself. I also think that 6.2 is a beast. Only problem is you have to buy an upper trim level to get it. For those not wanting to spend thousands on a trim package to then have the option to get an upgraded engine, the 5.3L is unfortunately the only choice, and it is somewhat lethargic. Interesting the perception of the new DI 5.3 . I think many people don't realize it is a totally new engine for 2014 with much more torque and horsepower. So I have read a lot about how the EB 2.7 pulls really well and is a rocket. In Fords own marketing video the 5.3 and the 2.7 are so close how could one be a "slug" and "lethargic" but the other a power house? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-n2uEx8CojE

I think 1/2 of the junk people get wizzed off about with the gm is the torque management. It doesn't give you the quick snap shifts and makes the truck feel unresponsive and slower etc.
I didn't like it at first, but in the end it is a safety feature to protect/prolong the life of the transmission. At that point im not a nascar driver, it does the job fine.

I still own a 5.0 Ford Crew Cab with a 3.73 rear end and they are about neck and neck in power....the ford is a bit quicker off the line but the chevy does a lot better at highway speeds my chevy has no problem doing 85-90 mph while the ford seems like it wanted to be driven at 75 mph....at 85 my chevy is just over 2000 rpms both tow just fine, don't have any issues with either of them. I was ashamed to say it at first, but i'm not anymore....I like the chevy a good amount better than the ford, and I thought the ford was the nicest thing in the world when I bought it. they 2014 and up 5.3 liter is a strong running truck...imo the 2013s and under were a tad underpowered. the new 5.0 liter in the ford is a beast but I couldn't accept the new bodystyle

It's just so hard to get, like I alluded to earlier, you have to get the LTZ option to get it, which doesn't make since to me.
