He might be thinking of the pond on Beltline in/near Coppell? My uncle used to work for an energy provider down there.

South Lake in Farmers Branch? I feel like I've heard that before. I've never been there, so I can't confirm. huh? My bad, Farmersville. And I'm not sure where I heard or saw that. I can't find it now.
