Good job Banker. Sounds like a real good time and something for the dinner table too. Those worms are hard to beat! Seems like you have been liking that float technique more lately.

Way to go, looks like a fish fry at your house soon.
My personal best is still swimming out there just getting bigger. One of these days I will quit feeding it.

Thanks Wade and "Data Hawk" for the replies: "Data Hawk": Fried up those fish last night. They were GREATTTTTTTTTTT! Wade: A lot of the water bodies where I am fishing have very grassy bottoms so I put the float on!

I don't mean to hijack your thread Banker. But are there any Redear in the DFW area?

Banker, I didn't know there was a Little Blanco Rover. Is it in Blanco, or is that the regular Blanco River?

CK. According to Parks&Wildlife Redear are native in the eastern half of the State but can be found in other States including Michigan,Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Parks&Wildlife stated the fish can be found just about in any part of Texas but mainly the eastern areas. I checked for water body records on the Redear in some of the Dallas waters but could not find any. I may have missed some. "Fish 'till I drop": The Little Blanco River is a separate river from the Blanco. Both Rivers run through Blanco Co. Somewhere in the Northeast corner of Blanco Co. The Little Blanco empties into the Blanco River. Both Rivers are GREAT to fish.

Those are nice. Love to catch redear. Used to fish a small shallow state lake in Arkansas that was full of them at that time. One summer, I caught 900 during the entire summer. A friend and I caught two limits of 50 (100), and I weighed them undressed - 75 lbs. Average of 2/3 lb. each. The lake froze over the next winter for an extended period and killed most of them due to lack of oxygen. Was never the same after that. I catch a few in Lake Fork but never that size.

Catching good size RE in a tributary like the Little Blanco is hard to beat this time of year. Them being that shallow in a river that clear makes me think that they may have cleared out some beds in that grass and may even had been spawning. Good job and great post as usual, Chuck!

Thanks "Fish Slime" and "Jagg" for the replies. The Redear is my favorite to catch of the six Sunfish! Love the size and fight! Side Note: They also taste GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!
