My wife would have laughed at me with that combo and sd 'you really aren't going out the house like that are you?'

LOL, you just reminded me AGAIN, why years ago, always have wife check before leaving the house. Although I am not color blind, years ago, worked with a man, really great fellow and salesman, but he was totally color blind. Anyhow, bottom line, his wife returned home (according to him now), very late from a business trip and he didn't want to wake her, so he selected his own choice of suit and tie that day and came to work. OMG - when he walked in, literally everyone's mouth fell open. Sales manager, "Al, what the hell are you wearing?" God love him he had no idea he was not 'appropriately' dressed. Had a black and yellow plaid suit, really kinda tasteful back then, but, a bright green shirt, and followed with bright purple tie and some red socks! No one knew including the sales manager, Al was color blind. After that day, we all 'kinda checked him out' before he left the offices for any reason! Too funny, had to share.... So, are fish color blind? IDK....but perhaps they are! God Bless My wife would have laughed at me with that combo and sd 'you really aren't going out the house like that are you?'

I don't think watermelon and June bug go together but it worked! I'm sure color selection has a lot less to do with it than I think. Beaver trailer Excuse me kind sir.... But you're supposed to be focusing on crappie fishing now

Color blindness can be a real PITA. I've been color blind (for some colors) my entire life. Is that channel marker green or red (especially hard to see at night)? I never knew there was a difference between chartreuse and yellow. June-bug is just black to me. When approaching a blinking light at night, is it yellow or red? Can't see Indian Paintbrushes in a green field. Wife has to dress me (so i just wear "uniforms").

God love ya, I sure understand all the implications of that now. Not funny really, but that day, I didn't and laughed my butt off as did everyone else. God Bless

Had a color-blind friend argue with me over the color of the worm he was using. That would be very frustrating to live with. It's bad enough having to have readers.

The best advise you got all day was to only take 1 or 2 rods and your box of jigs and spend the day fishing with nothing but a jig. That's what I did and now it's 1 of my favorite baits to throw. Definitely a confidence bait.

The Grande Bass color Trophy Hunter is half junebug and half watermelon red. The Hags tornado is the same color and it is called storm chaser. Zoom calls that color camo. Yum used to make a chunk in that color also and they called it camo also. I made me some jig skirts half junebug and half watermelon red just because that color works so well.

Lee I also like a black blue jig with a junebug trailer. Works well when it is cloudy out and that gives them a little different color other than a black/blue trailer.

Looks to me at least, like you pretty much disproved the theory of 'having to match' colors to attract a good bite! Nicely done... God Bless I always wonder if color matters more to us than them. Why does it have to be matching colors? Isn't contrasting colors good at times? Lol. Well I was too lazy to change jigs so I just put a June bug color on because the sun came out and I found a little clearer water. I thought it looked stupid but thought what the heck. I may start trying out the dumbest looking combos I can and see what happens!

A base of watermelon, green pumpkin, or black blue make alot of variations possible..Experiment based on what craws look like that time of year, bream, or shad..
