Depending on what the weather report calls for we are gonna head out to Joe Pool Friday morning. We usually put in at Lynn Creek. Any suggestions? Anyone have a favorite/successful lure for Joe Pool?

If I were going I would be there at first light. Try the weed line back there behind the state park launch or the first cut past the dam. Use top water. Around 10 o-clock or so I would start looking in 15-25 feet with something red or purple (tomato trick worm or lizard have been working well lately)on a C-ring. I would start around the cuts on the west side of the east fork. Their out there, you just got to find them.

its always are plan to be out there at first light... key word is plan. With Joe Pool if ya don't get out there early I find you start to run into issues with the play boaters. My go to color in general is chartreuse (specked trout down in Galveston Bay like it too) but maybe I will have to tie on something red or purple tomorrow. thx for the tips I will pass them on to my husband (his the "navigator").

Last time we went out he got a few, but I got skunked frown very frustrating. The few times we have been out to JP I think most of the fish, if not all that we have hooked has been on a Cotton Cordell redfin lure, we only had one on the boat for the last trip due to the lake claiming the other.

Will post back if we make the trip out tomorrow, hopefully with some good news. Any other tips and suggestions are very welcomed. We are still new to the fishing and lakes around DFW.

Joe Pool is very frustrating, for me at least but I am going to keep hacking at it and learn how to fish off shore. On the weekends, you have to get off the water by 11am because of the party crowd.

I would recommend this, go talk to Joe at Vip-er boat repair in Grand Prairie. He knows the lake like no one else and he has pulled at least 25, 10# bass out of JP. He is a great guy to know for boat repair and he has taught me a lot about the lake in just a few conversations.

I am determined to learn how to fish off shore
Out there, even if I don't catch anything for a long
Time.

We went out on the boat a couple of weekend back and caught about 5 small ones (1lb - 2lb) in some of the coves early in the morning, but by 9 am seems everything was moving deep and the recreational boaters were showing up so we packed it up and came home.

We were using the H2O Xpress CRS Cranks in Sexy Shad. My son and I are new to Bass Fishing so we have a lot to learn.

Is there any hydrilla in that lake anymore? I've been without a boat a couple few years and just got another one recently and all the hydrilla I used to fish appears to be gone.

I haven't found much hydrilla, there is some around the boat docks at the state park but I've only seen it there in small areas and super shallow

That is what I'm figuring out , I usually don't go past the south bridge but was wondering if there might be any down there. I guess I just need to do some more exploring. Thanks Slade
