Hello everyone, my family and I are moving to the Houston area from the UK, and I am shipping my carp gear over with our things, unfortunately I can't bring any bait. How is the fishing around the area, what size carp are in the waters? Do all waters hold carp? All info appreciated

Sorry Fishing Regulations This reservoir has special regulations on largemouth bass. See bag and size limits. A Triploid Grass Carp Permit is in effect on this lake. If a grass carp is caught, it must be immediately returned to the water unharmed. http://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/conroe/

I do not target Carp but do know that just about every type of water body in this State has Carp! There are also some Carp anglers who live in the Houston area that hopefully will respond to your post. Good luck on finding some places fish. Side Note: To the Texas Fishing Forum. Looking forward to seeing some your future catches.

Conroe is basically just grass carp with an occassional sm buffalo or common. For commons try Lakes Houston, Woodlands, Livingston, Tom Bass III, Buffalo Bayou, Braes Bayou, Greens Bayou, Sims Bayou.

Fisherwood, I work near JFK Airport so I checked out Greens Bayou at Imperial Drive. I checked Thomas Wussow park and saw a few small ones. I then went over to CityView Park and found a few bigger ones cruising. Are there some better spots on Greens Bayou near that area with relatively safe parking? Thanks for all your help on the forum. It is greatly appreciated

Here is a recent thread about Houston carp angling. The Carpenter suggested the woodlands for well earned rewards.http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/11766229/Carp_fishing_club#Post11766229

The only spot I actually fished on Greens was down near the shipchannel; a small park in a neighborhood there; sorry forgot the name, but not too far off of I-10.
