Went to Ray Hubbard. Was on the sandbass good for the first hour then caught this. I was in my kayak with 6 lb line which i use for rainbow trout. So I couldn't possibly get him in my kayak and didn't really want to lolo. No lip gripper either. So I peddled back 300 yards fighting this fish the whole way. Get to shore get out of yak and try to get the fish in. Anyway a bass pro shop employee helps me . Grabs the fish and scooped it up. After a few tries lolo. Thanks to Carl I we got him in. Catfish Carl he told me he goes by. I don't think I would have gotten the fish in without him. So ty. And the catfish was caught on a bass pro silver dollar chartreuse slab. Apropos

Now that's a yak trip you always remember . Good to know fish are schooling on that part of the lake. Buddies found good schools at other spots as well yesterday eve. Fish were active late yesterday

I was there about 1 to 5. Yellows were there as well as 3 under hybrids . Caught a buffalo also. He was huge but easy to get up to get my slab out.I weigh 220 . Held the fish standing on a home scale . Weighed 250 then. Don't know if that's an accurate weight. Carl offered me a weight scale in bass pro but didn't want to mess with it too tired lolo. Anyway the fish were very active . Every drop a sandbass or yellow or cat or buffalo lol for a while. Chartreuse or holo silver

That will happen. Those big blue cats like shad and if you use some of that shad scent stick on a crankbait you'll be surprised at how often you'll start catching Blue Cat and Drum. I even caught a huge gar once at texoma when he got tangled in the line and the hook got him under the belly. 50 inch gar puts up a nice fight.
