Hit the Brazos yesterday, got there about 1 in the heat. I went about 1.5 miles down and came back up. I caught most of my fish on wacky worms and a spot remover jig head with a Yamamoto skirted grub. Most of the fish hit the jig while I was swimming it. Biggest fish only went 17.5". I probably caught 30 fish. Color was making a difference as I tried multiple colors of the same bait and no bites on some colors. Caught bass, black, small, spots.

What colors were working well for you? I'm thinking of heading there this weekend, and I'm trying pack lighter on the tackle. Less stuff to drag and less stuff to lose.

Yeah, no doubt on packing light. I was throwing a merthiolate floating worm and black and yellow hula grub on jig head. The white Xrap was working too.

I was out there this morning. I managed quite a few sandies, stripers and lmb. Most of them we small but I did manage one 18" striper on my fly rod that put up a heck of a fight. I only managed one small striper with my spinning rod. They turned off around 11am.

Any advice on which areas to fish? I was going to head downstream and fish my way down, and then paddle back up to the bridge to take out. There doesn't appear to be that much water above the 16 bridge and below the dam.

I went above the bridge this morning. I caught several small sandbass at the bridge right at sunrise. Stripers are still in the deep pool but not in great numbers.

I fish above and below, not to far from the bridge either way. I fish the heck out of a spot so I don't have time to go very far. Last trip I went down about a mile and a half in 8 hours. More water to fish down stream.

I put in at the highway 16 bridge early this morning and fished downstream. I caught a bunch of spotted bass, about half a dozen sandies, a few little stripers, an assortment of sunfish, and one little channel cat. Lots of fish, but nothing of any size. A gold floating minnow as the best bet for me, but I also caught 'em on an olive/white clouser minnow when I was fishing my fly rod. Overall a very nice morning on the water.
