Hey guys, if you could pick one lake to spend about 5 days fishing, which lake would you go to and why? I know some people will say it depends on what I want size or numbers but I want to hear what you guys prefer. Work is slow so I'm gonna take a week off and go somewhere since I haven't had a straight week of fishing since 2010 I think. I was at Falcon lake for that week when Tommy Law caught the lake record. I had a great time there camping out in my tent and always look back at those memories. I'm overdue for another trip somewhere!

If distance wasn't an issue, Guntersville. If I had to stay in Texas I would either go to Rayburn or stay somewhere around Pittsburg and fish Sandlin, Cypress Springs, Welsh, and Monticello. I know Toledo Bend is an awesome lake but the last time I spent five days down there we must have caught them in a funk. It was pretty disappointing, but then again I didn't know the lake as well as a lot of people do.

^^ grass lake? Not so much this year..... It's a structure lake. If you go to Toledo get ready for a lot of graphing.

I don't mind a challenge. I'm not great at bass fishing so it usually takes me a whole day to figure out what's working anyhow. What did you have in mind?

If I had five days I would get to Sugar Lake as fast as I can. August on that lake is the best freaking lake hands down

no hydrilla for sure on Toledo. Just got back from fishing there for two days. You can find haygrass, milfoil, dollar weed, lily pads, and peppergrass... but no hydrilla in fishable amounts. First day we had 22 3/4 lbs best five, fishing 6-3 pm for best five. Second day we had two fish for 10 lbs and fished until 6-12. 7 fish for 33 lbs isn't a bad average for size, but not alot of bites. You can go south and fish the mouth of mill and indian though and catch all the schoolers you want to catch on topwaters around points with deep milfoil edges average 1-2 lbs. We were fishing a small tournament though so we fished structure primarily.
There are some fish in the haygrass... If you get around the deeper stuff.
Fishing at night is another option, they are catching the snot out of them right now after dark. Just tie on a big worm on a texas rig and fish lighted docks or hard structure in 10-17 feet and you can go to town on em'.

Toledo even without much hydrilla still has more aquatic vegetation than any other lake I know of
