The Full Moon is behind us, the lake has turned over and FINALLY THE FISH ARE SCHOOLING! We've been looking for this to happen for the last couple of weeks and the time has come.
This time of year you’re looking for fish schooling on top in the open water following the main creek channels. A little behind our schedule but here they are coming up the Richland creek heading for the dam. Also most years we spot them on the chambers arm on the Chambers Creek headed for the 287 bridge and beyond.
It's a fun pattern for a week or 2 maybe 3 weeks at most. Lots of really nice fish under the top water feeding frenzy. So keep an eye on the depth finder while casting at the schooling action for bigger fish usually 20 feet down and hungry. I use a slab on this action or top water bait both brings good results.
Maybe the birds will show up now to help point us to the large schools.
Good luck and great fishing!!
