Started the morning out on timber and finished
At bridge pylons and the pylons produced the most fish
Today .. I put in at 6:30 am and I hit the timber
.. Didn't stay long on timber as It was a dink fest ..
Caught several though . 7:30 rolled around so I decided
To go try some brush piles .. First brush pile
I get to in 11ft of water I pitch my marker and
I make a pass back to make sure it was a successful
Pitch .. Sure enough it was .. Dropped my jig
And right away thump and a small fish .. Thump
Another small fish .. Decided to try a darker
Color just to see and I caught a few more ..
On to next pile witch was in 16 ft of water
Pitch marker drive back by bingo were in
Business .. Drop jig and nothing ..
Now keep in mind the other day this pile was on
Fire .. Even though it was a dink fest .. Not one
Single nibble so after 15 minutes I reeled up my marker
And decided to try another pile .. I had decided
When it got hot I was going to fish pylons ..
So on to 3 rd pile .. Pitch maker make a pass back
By and it was a successful pitch once again ..
Drop jig fishing the edge of the pile thump thump and thump ..
They were hitting on the fall .. Also drop all the way to
Bottom and raise it 3 ft and thump too .. I mean
Nailing it . Fished that pile for a while cause it
Was producing ..actually put a few in the box
Off 3 rd pile. .. Couple of 12 inchers .. Girlfriend
Said she wanted fresh crappie for dinner .. So
10 am rolled around and I decided I better get busy ..
Only had 4 or 5 keepers in the box .. So I hammered down
To bridge pylons and I'm glad I did. .. It was on ..
First pylon I drop jig Kaboom hit it on the fall ...
Every pylon I was picking 1 or 2 off .. Caught several
In the center beam as well .. They were suspended and
I was catching 7 ft down in 15 ft of water at times ..
As it heated up 3 cranks off bottom raising it up and
Down .. Sometimes they would hit it swinging jig back and
Forth .. At times nailing it .. A lot of action on every pylon..
Honestly this was best I've seen all summer on the pylons ..
I would leave the ones producing come back to
Them and catch fish again on same pylons .. I
Ran into a really nice guy minnow dunking as well , he was
Catching too ..but not like the jig I was using ..

I tell ya ..gave that nice feller a few and he went
To catching more fish that's know bs .. The jigs
Was out fishing minnows .. I got off the lake at noon..
Left my new friend with 20 crappie and I kept
10 for dinner .. Pylons was the ticket today

I ran into Dale at HEB earlier , the ole boy I gave jigs to .
Said that they turned on even more after I left ..
I told him man they were on fire when I was there ..
He ended up limiting of course with some I gave him
And was culling .. Said he caught some nice ones too ..

I dont know why red color combos work good under bridges but its always one of the first colors I like to try, red/chart red/black red/green . those bill dance tri colored tube jigs seem to work good also.
