My family is heading up to Lake Arlington to hopefully catch the daily limit of channel cat. We are going to yet multiple baits We are going to catch bluegill for some cut bait, use our Uncle Charlie's dip bait, buy worms, etc. It sounds good and all but I have a couple questions.
1.What have they been biting lately? 2. I was wondering if slim Jim's would work as bait? Seems like a good idea to me.

We have caught plenty of cats in the winter on juglines using hot dog weenies. Dip bait might be your best bait for channels, IMHO Go get em

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
