Was on Toledo today. Looks like the extreme cold weather caused a lake turn over or something. Thousands and thousands of dead shad. Muddy water in spots normally clean. I've never seen so many shad like that. Couldn't buy a bass to bite for nothing. Just curious if anyone has seen a lake turn over this time of year?

Sustained water temps in the low 40s will kill shad and color the water. That is more likely the reason.

Were you fishing by the Dam? Six Mile area is always pretty clear when the lake turns over from time to time,

No I was just north of the Bridge.
Tim I thought so too. Just never seen that before but then again we ain't had this amount of cold weather in long time either

Shad die at these temps,bass will search for other food.
Gonna be a strong Jig bite this year...just sayin.
