I've been to the Neches twice in the last few days, can't get enough. Fished it once before when water levels were at extreme lows a year or two ago and had almost forgotten about it until Gutcheck mentioned it on another thread. Didn't know what to expect but didn't really care as it was breezy and I wanted to stay under the wind for a change. What a pleasant surprise to fish the place with lots of water in it this time around. Planned to target hybrids but did more exploring and watching my fishfinder. Found the hybrids in the same holes I fished before. Even caught a few black bass. Boy those river bass fight hard. banana Put in was at bridge on 31 and headed south to Lake Palestine.

Turned around at map point and fished my way back when the winds from open water hit.

Lots of new water to explore, can't wait to get back out there.

Nice looking stretch of water. Might have to try that!

Lots of interesting stuff under the water...found some holes that were 13 feet deep.

There you go making me jealous again Louis. I'll be down that way once I get this Grapevine thing out of the way.

Wow, that's pretty warm water. I was on Cooper on Saturday and it was 43 main, and 45 in the tira ramp cove.

I thought the temperature of water would have been much closer to 60 since the air temps got up to 68 degrees that afternoon. Water was actually warmer the closer I got to main lake. Nice little current in river.

I'm ready to take some real cold water lake fishing soon. I think I can handle a couple of skunks at Fork looking for a big one before scoochbutting back to a power plant lake. rolfmao

Michael, if I wanted to make you jealous I'd go catch some hogs from the holes you showed me at Flat Creek area of lake. rolfmao

Hey Louis , I think you have a real good chance at some good ones just south of the pic you took. That was a very popular spot up until the launch site closed so it hasn't gotten much pressure at all for several years. Remember where you followed me through that neighborhood that night? That was 1 mile south of where you turned around because of the wind. Me and dozens of others have caught huge sacs of bass from there but it's a tough run from down the lake to get there. That means they haven't seen many lures lately. I didn't put it all together until you and Tom got me to looking at google earth. I'm really exited about fishing that area again and this is the right time of year. Palestine starts early. I'll see you there soon as I can swing it.

Yep, I remember following you through the banjo backwoods at night to that closed down fishing camp. Give me a couple of days notice whenever you're ready. cheers
