Hi Fellow Anglers,

Quick question on the controller. I plugged it in and charged it for several days and the light indicator is still RED. Is that normal? I turned it on and battery level is at 3/4th full. Is the light supposed to turn green when it's fully charged? Everything worked fine when I used on the lake. Just curious about the remote. I'm still new at this. Thanks for your time.

Yes, the red light will stay on until the charger is unplugged

There is a software upgrade for the remote that will make the battery indicator on the screen show full. The red light just lets you know it's plugged in. Go to Humminbird.com and register your unit and the I pilot link. Once you do that you will see the updates available. Follow the instructions in the right order and update everything. The battery indicator on the screen will then show full.

I just bought my Minn Kota 112 lbs iPilot link yesterday. I hope to have it all installed by next weekend. From everyone I talked to that has one, it's a must have. The feature most people use (I think) is the spot lock. And from all accounts it sounds like it works great. I got my from Shut up and fish here on the forum. Great guy and a better price. grin Send him a pm and he will give you a great price.

My favorite feature is the navigation to waypoints. I can tell the I pilot link to navigate to the next waypoint and then spot lock on it from my 1198 screen. So while you're traveling you can change lures etc without having to worry about steering the boat. Once you get to the point it will beep to let you know and put the motor on spot lock. Use it every time I am out. I also use follow the contour some, you can pick a hump and highlight a depth on it and have the i pilot navigate around it.

I have a 24' fishmaster and the ipilot link system works great on it. I did put the 36 volt unit on it though. Ran the 24 volt for about 4 months and then decided to convert. You will love it.

Diel11 is spot on with the waypoint feature. The only small complaint I have is with the follow the contour. If you use that feature on a round contour such as those displaying a hump. I have been only able to navigate halfway around the hump before you have to reprogram the contour again. Other than that minor detail it is great

Ill have to check but I am pretty sure its the latest. It will show one color half way and the other color the other side of the contour and when I get to the end of the track it disengages.

Both the remote and controller for the i pilot link are at 1.160. Not sure if that will help you but I was having problems with the i pilot link swinging erratically and also ramping up too fast to catch up. Updated and fixed it, I remember losing contour before also and much better now. It wasn't around humps but it would lose it for sure.
