I love fishing but I don't have a boat. So places I hear about that are awesome to fish are extremely limited. I need a good place to drive up to, unload and fish. Either right at the truck or a short walking distance from it. Some place that isn't overly crowded - the perfect secluded spot would be most desired. But as long as I have a fishing pole in hand, I'm good. Perhaps dog friendly, as sometimes my dog goes along. Perhaps someplace for someone learning the ropes on fishing from a canoe. Basically, just good fishing. Redfish are ideal; anything that bites my hook welcome. Cast netting my own bait - once I learn how to make it open all the way all the time. Suggestions welcomed. I live in Victoria. Would prefer not to go north, though. Prefer Indianola - Aransas - Port Lavaca - Rock Port. I love fishing in off the beaten path places, and I don't really like surf fishing, although I do like fishing off the creeks that come off the surf.
Any suggestions???

Any suggestions??? klo, understand what you're asking, but that is really a contradiction in terms. The vast majority of fishermen don't have boats, so shorelines, docks, piers, jetties, and beaches are going to be more crowded. Consider this, someone posts a secluded spot for you to fish, others will read about it and it will get more traffic. That's just the way it is. Hopefully someone has sent you a PM with good info. It's unfortunate you don't prefer fishing the surf, that is probably your best bet. We fish the surf a lot, we just watch the forecast and try to hit the beach when the winds lay down and we get cleaner water. Some years we get to fish those conditions a lot, not so much other years. Good luck
