Took a trip to Fork today... Only thing caught was a sunburn. Launched by golf course fished NW side. Fish morning and evening, threw everything but the tackle box and nothing. Everybody I talked too had no luck either. Rough conditions today 20mph south wind, muddy water but damn first time being skunked. What's going on? Anybody have any advice?

Secondary wind blown points next to channel swings. Anywhere from 1-15'.... Try moving baits like square bills, chatter baits and spinnerbaits up shallow and Trigs... Jigs in 6-15'... We caught about 20 doing this yesterday... Biggest was 8 lbs also caught 2 at one time on a square bill!

Typical season transition bass fishing. Stay with it, it will turn on after the cold front this weekend.

Don't get discouraged, it's the toughest time of the year. It should get good in a few weeks...

I had a pretty good day! I was out only 3 hrs and boated 11 real fast! Just checking to see if my fish are still there for a saturday trip! They were!! Not real big fish 1-3 pounders mostly, However i did get 1 slot fish that was pushing 6 lbs! Tight lines!

thumbI was on a group trip with many very good guides, and I cant say that any of us tore them up.Lance Vick's team won heavy sack and biggest under bass, however they counted the longest slot bass for big bass and it was a 21" fish on Larry Lovell's team.We had some small bass very shallow, small spinners, square bills and medium divers later in the day.My biggest jumped off at the boat on a Biffle Bug/Hardhead rig, that I guess at about 6 pounds in about 6 to 7 ft. of water.I was able to show Charlie a who just purchased a 9" Lowrance touch screen a lot on the downscan and side scan, Everyone had fun and thats what it's all about!

Keep grinding out there, buddy. Those Fork fish are funny. They feed in very small windows, you have to be in the right area when they turn on and its magical. Thats what keeps people coming back. It's not a lake where you can pull up on any good looking point and expect to consistently have action. Nobody posts their bad Fork trips on the forum, so the lake gets a different perception than how it really fishes. Its a great lake with some big fish, but even the best have the days you had. Stay at it!

I had the same experience last Sunday. Fished all day with nothing to show.

Sounds like Fork, someone is catching them and someone is struggling. I will be there tomorrow, hopefully I am on the catching end of things!!

I live in Fort Worth so I get out to fork when I can. By far one of my favorite lakes and you can bet I'll keep on casting. I'll be back to Fork for the Basschamps on the 19th. Thanks for posts

Plastics, spinners, creatures, and my favorite jigs/pigs. Still working on drop shot (missed half a dozen) I even threw umbrella rig. Fished 20-30', 5'-15'. No luck.

I have been trying to keep up on the Lake Fork fishing reports and it sounds like October is starting at a low pace. Planning to be at Lake Fork Marina on Sunday (10/6) and stay thru Friday. My lady has never fished Fork with me and can't hardly wait to wet a hook. I sure hope the fish pick up some so she won't be disappointed.
Can anyone tell me if the lake water level has increased.
