Tyler Bass Club is putting on a four tournament fall series of open individual tournaments. More details will follow in the next few days, but tournaments dates and lakes are:
September 21 Lake O' The Pines (Johnson Creek ramp) October 19 Lake Tyler (Lake Tyler Marina) November 16 Lake Palestine (Lake Palestine Resort) December 14 Martin Creek (State Park)
Entry fee will be $50 per tournament and includes big bass. We are paying back 90% and paying one place for every seven entries. If we get 30 entries first will pay $600. If we have 50 it will pay $1,000.
In addition to regular per-tournament payback at the ramp, there will be a $500 cash bonus for the "Angler of the Year (Series)" who weighs in the highest combined net weight for the four tournament series. There will be other bonuses as well as we are still gaining sponsors.
Five fish limit, black bass only. Hours will probably be 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. but that is not firm yet. Trailering will be allowed after check-in and livewell check.
As I said, more details to come. Again, these are OPEN tournaments. Many have expressed the wish that there were more open individual tournaments so here they are.

I wasn't aware but in October it's going to be hard to schedule any weekend that doesn't involve championships or other tournaments of some kind.

Okay, we are talking about changing our date for that one tournament to Sunday, October 20. I will post details as soon as they are concrete. We should have a tournament flyer out within the next few days.

Watch this thread Bill. We do not have a website. This is going to be a good trail we have some great sponsors and are working to make it as rewarding as possible.

With the sponsor money we already have we will almost certainly end up paying out more than 100% of entry fees by the time the season-ending bonuses are paid.
We'll also have a very nice, monogrammed jacket for our Angler of the Year/Season. Again, that will be provided by a sponsor.
Final details such as rules will be included on the tournament flyer we should have out in the next few days. PM me your email address and I'll send you a flyer. We'll also post final details here.

Okay, here are a few more details:
$500 season-end bonus for angler with highest combined net weight for four events $300 season-end bonus for second highest combined net weight for four events $300 for overall big bass of the four events. YOU MUST FISH AT LEAST THREE OF THE TOURNAMENTS TO QUALIFY FOR THIS BONUS.
$50 entry fee Individual tournaments Only one person allowed per boat Five fish, 14" minimum for all tournaments Artificial lures only...of course.
There will be other prizes as well, including a nice monogrammed jacket for our "Angler of the Series" (highest net weight).
We will pay 90% at the ramp at the end of each tournament. One place will be paid for each seven entries. We are weighting the percentages heavily toward first place because it seems most people are interested in winning "big" for first, not for finishing 6th or 7th. For instance, if we have 50 entries first place will pay $1,000. Second place will pay $480, but 3rd will only pay $180. 7th place will get you $40. Big bass of the tournament would pay $250
Year-end bonuses will be paid at the ramp after the last tournament at Martin Creek. Of course we will have to wait to get the jacket monogrammed since we won't know who wins Angler of the Series until that time.
When our 90% per-tournament payouts are combined with our year-end bonuses and sponsor prizes, we will end up paying over 100% unless turnout averages over 60 anglers per tournament. If we average over 60 payout may slip into the upper 90% range.
We are trying to get our flyer printed and will have it at various locations around the area in the next few days.
These should be fun. Tyler Bass Club and our sponsors look forward to seeing you there.

By the way, we have changed the date of the October tournament to Sunday, October 20 to avoid a conflict with BLT.

We are changing our tournament season from September thru August to starting in January and ending in December. That left us with four months between seasons so we thought a series of open tournaments would be a good idea and a lot of fun.
