I’ve been fishing saltwater since the age of 8. I’m 24 now and I’ve been coming to Mansfield to wade whenever I have time off from work. I usually fish next to Fred Stone Park. I seem to hit flounder and reds using popping corks with live bait, and gulps. Question is…where can I go other then the park to wade? What kind of rigs can I use in the mornings? I sure could use some helpful answers from you guys. Most of the locals I ask are a little weary about giving away their secret fishing spots. I don’t have a 4x4 pickup so I usually park it somewhere. I rigged my motorized mountain bike to carry a rod, bait bucket, and a small cooler to get around in those hard places. I’ve looked on ( www.stxmaps.com/go/port-Mansfield-fishing.html) for an overview but I’m still new to the area and I don’t want to find myself getting ticketed for fishing on private property.
