So I came to the realization that theres no way I could ever afford a power pole or talon much less two of them. So I was searching around for alternatives and found the stick it anchors. Sort of a manual "poor mans" power pole. Does any anyone have any experience with these? I was thinking about fabbing up an aluminum mount for the side of my 6" slidemaster jackplate kinda like the power poles have. Anyone see any issues with that? Thanks for any replies

They were used before any of the "push button" variety came along especially for inshore fishing. The only problem is the same issue that the "powered" poles have, with just one you will swing around the pole if there is any wind or current. You will need 2 anchoring points. It is still a lot less expensive and like the guys on the coast, you can engineer and build your own.

At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

I use the Dig in anchor system and really like it. I have a jack plate mount and front deck mount. It is manual and not as cool as the push button type but just as functional and nothing extra hanging off the back of my boat. The only challenge is storing the poles but I solved that by using a set of Rod Saver light holders.

I got dual power poles on the rear and a 10' stick it pin on the front. Its simple yet highly effective.
