What is the best set up, reasonably priced rod/reel combo for flippin jigs, worms, soft plastics into brush, grass, etc.. I'd like stay in the $300 -$400 range for the total set up.
Or would be the best if budget was not an option?
Just trying to get some opinions as I look at options thanks guys.

Falcon Cara Amistad rod with a Lew's Tournament MG and my bait of choice would have to be the Missile D-Bomb. Catching fish till you get bored!

Lot of options here Slade. For pitching I like a 7-0 to 7-6 with some tip to it so it loads up easier. For flipping I have a light flipping rod which I use 20# line & a heavy flipping rod / Broom stick that is rated for 80# braid that is 7-6. The bottom line here is buy the best you can afford but before you do that get with some of these guys that are on prostaffs & have them take you out & use there rods. This way is a lot cheaper than buying the wrong rod & then trying to resale it multiple times. Good luck

Thanks guys, the more I think about it, I am going to blow my budget out of the water but I am leaning towards the Core 100mg Reel and a Falcon Cara Amistad rod. More than I wanted to spend but it seems like a great set up.

I love my Falcon Cara Amiatad!!! I've got it paired with a Curado 200e7 with no complaints.

Get the core 100mg7 not the regular mg. faster gear ratio, brass gears and larger knobs. Meant specifically for heavy applications....
Cheaper option is the Lews Super Duty. Same basic Idea and a braid ready spool.
Yield not to misfortunes but advance ever more boldly against them

If your going to be pitching all day, some things to consider are the balance of the rod and the weight. A lighter reel, and a balanced rod (they make weights or you can build them to balance against a specific weight) will take a lot less toll on your wrist and help you with the feel.
