Anyone out there have one of these - any kind of report on these or feedback from would be appreciated. My girlfriend wants to buy me one for but being my first venture into this kind of craft I thought I would look for some feedback before I let her spend that kind of money. I am a big guy (375#) and wanting something stable enough to handle the winds in Texas and some rivers in Washington and Oregon when the salmon are running.
I posted this in the Kayak section as well since this is not really a float tube or a kayak but really looking for input on this product line or others that will handle my weight and the gear that I will be hauling - potentially another 100# on extended salmon trips.

I don't know anything about the product...but..my concern, if I were you, would be that it appears that you will be pretty high due to the seating set-up.
High, and big ( I'm 6'2" ..250lbs) isn't good in the wind. I'd think that you would be being blown around all of the time.
I have an aluminum pedal type pontoon boat in my pond. On a windy day, I cannot hold it in a position to cast, even if I pedal all of the time. I've even thought about adding a drift chute to give it some steerage. regards, Rich

they actually have a couple of frameless models that have you sitting on a much lower plane - more like a float tube or kayak. I was hoping to find anyone that actually owns one of thier products to get some feedback - find good reviews online - seems like quality American made product - still not sure until I go try a more conventional kayak what I will end up with.

GRD, I have one. Bought it when I worked in NYC 3 yrs ago to fish on the North Fork of the Delaware river. I'm 235 and have carried about 75 lbs gear and boat would support plenty more. Happens I'd like to sell mine. Just don't use it now that I've moved back to East Texas. It has a blue hull and has only been in the water 3 times (all fresh water)....like new. Would sell for $850 if any interest. Best I've seen on line is $900. Think it would work great in Oregon or Washington, (I'm from Seattle) but I'm not living anywhere close to where I can put it to good use. If interested, ping me back...I live about 2 hours from Ft Worth.

I have Creek Company pontoon boat, I am a small guy 5'10" 155lbs. Last year on a day that the wind blew up I was on Clear lake at LBJ GRASSLANDS. The wind blew me across the lake like I was a kite. I landed on the opposite shore and walked around the bank pulling it by rope back to the ramp. Be prepared when the wind blows. I have started using my tube more. When I can get out.
Best o luck to you.....
