It's time again for the Big Bass Extravaganza! Red River will be March 15-18 and Lake Conroe April 12-14. If you are definitely fishing be sure you don't miss out on the early prize drawing for $500. Deadline for entry into the Red River event will be Feb 28th and Conroe will be March 31st so dont miss out!

One very important change in additional prizes that I must mention is the new Legend Advantage program. If anyone is thinking about buying a new boat you may want to consider a 2013 Legend prior to either event. If you win you will get an additional $10,000 bonus in addition to doubling your hourly winning bonuses.

For those of you who have fished with us before, you know how fun our events can be. Our director Bubba is a very easy going guy but is a stickler for the rules. With that being said I wanted to post a few things that you all need to pay close attention to due to recent changes and or areas that seem to get over looked every year.

Our rules don't have anything posted indicating an official "OFF LIMITS" area other than the host marina. However with the recent changes in the enforcement of the posted areas on Red River (i.e. Cooley's Lake, Barge Turnarond and Stevens Lake) anyone caught fishing in any waters not open to the public will be disqualified. Please call Bubba @ (903) 383-7748 if you have any questions or need clarification.

For the most part, anglers do a very good job of following the rules but there are a few here and there that fail boat check. We even had a guy last year that almost lost big time for not having a throw cushion at the start of the tournament day. The angler caught the mistake and he purchased one from Red River South but his catch prior to did not count and he was polygraphed later that day. Please make sure you note that by throw cushion we do not mean a rolled up life jacket. I know it sounds like overkill but there are a few particular things that you will be checked for if you place hourly and they are not negotiable. Here they are:

1)Fishing License
2)Boat Registration
3)Kill Switch
4)Horsepower Rating
5)Alcoholic Beverages/Drugs
6)Life Jacket
7)Throw Cushion
8)Number of bass in livewell.

If you just weighed a fish you can not have more than 2 when we check. That would mean you had more than the legal limit (3) prior to weighing in. If you have two anglers or more they will be counted as well but are permited to have 3 each, that they caught, provided they didn't weigh in that hour also.

To register or if you have any questions please call Bubba or Bubbette @ (903) 383-7748 and download entry forms @ bigbassextravaganza.com
