Just curious how many people use these and the pros and cons of the product.
I have heard that the sleeves protect your guides from wear and heard others say they wear down your guides from the sliding motion when apply and remove the sleeve.
Any input would be great. I'd also appreciate the brand you would recommend if u use the product.
Thanks in advance

i like them because they keep my rods from getting tangled in the rod locker. I used to have those rod holders, but it limited me to 12 rods, now with the sleeves i can stack them as deep as i want. hooks can get into them and that can be a problem but not as bad as having lines tangled around other rods. One brand has a hole in the end to hang the rods by, mine are taped at the end. dont remember which is which. im sure they protect the guides, but mini guides go through the material, and for those rods i have the bps sleeves with the elastic base to wrap around the reel.

The Original Rod Sox. Hands down the the best. They offer the best protection and dont wear guides. Also they have a tighter weave to keep guides from poking through, and the rubber sleeve on the reel end keeps hooks from tangling in the weave.

They work very well. I use Rod Sox and Shimano neoprene reel covers. Both are good products.

If you travel with them exposed on top of the boat, don't expect them to be there when you get to the lake. I found out the hard way. Even with the rods strapped down they will fly off. Definitely not a knock on the product. I just had to buy 3 more and learned from experience.

Ton Ton. Were yours the Original Rod Sox? I know Rod Sox will not fly off. You cant even cast them off if you try. All the other brands do.

I had a couple with the "Rod Glove" bought off tacklewarehouse that blew off on the way to the lake. My partner gave me a Rod Sox for the ride home and it blew off. Lesson learned.

Gene...I lost 3 on Hwy 69 heading to Fork about a year ago that were Original RodSox right off the deck while strapped down. Here is the post.... http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbt...Sox#Post7297593....and still RodSox is the best there is on the market. I wouldn't own anything else.
