Tried a new swim again since I've blanked there for carp. This time I also brought my gar gear because I've seen some big ones there.
Well no carp still but I did hook into a large gator gar.



I estimate between 5 and 6' long, close to 100lbs.
The bait was about 7" slab of small carp, suspended beneath a 6" popping cork.

I didn't get better pics because I was on my own and not prepared to land such a large fish. In fact I broke my rod getting it close enough to try to unhook! I ended up snapping the line instead.
