I need say sorry first, because my English is not good, but I am still learning now.
--------------------------------------------------------------

This day was a sunny day, I decide go fly fishing to Waishuanghsi stream.

I stand on the river side, the water is clean, many fishes eating stone algae in the underwater.

First catch, Tilapia

I move slowly to downstream, one water splash on the water surface, I pull fly rod to got a dace.

Second Dace was small, it is cute.

Second Tilapia was relatively large,it had 25cm.

Oh...my flies was broken.

Change a new black flies, two Dace were catch.

I am feel tired,so,I sit on the stone, then I change another flies, catch Dace again.

At this time, my cellphone alarm goes off, oh....now was 10:30.

I movie to downstream again.

The last catch for a Tilapia.

Total catches were 8 fishes, this is a happy ending.

Great post and super pictures.

I've caught a lot of Tilapia here in my East Texas ponds on flies and they look just like the ones you pictured.

Enjoyed your post.

Gavin,

Your dace is an interesting fish.....did a little research on them on the 'net. Thanks for showing us something new.

By the way, in Texas only the Mozambique Tilapia is legal to have in private waters. All others are illegal and labeled as invasive species....but we do have very large populations of the blue Tilapia in our power plant lakes. Those lakes stay warm enough to support Tilapia life year around, whereas the Mozambique I have in ponds do not survive the Texas winters.

Yes, Tilapia was invasive species in the Taiwan, too.

But many years ago, they were important food for Taiwan people, they are very delicious and popular food now.

One day, when you take a trip to Taiwan, you can order Sweet Vinegar Fish(Tilapia), this is my favorite food.
