Entry Fee: $100.00 per team (includes Big Bass award and launch fees at Canyon Park).
Rules and Regulations: It is the responsibility of each angler to read and understand these rules. Noncompliance and/or violations will result in team disqualification and forfeiture of all entry fees and prize money. All entrants agree, by signing the entry form, that the decision of the tournament judges will be final in all respects. All local, state, and federal laws must be followed during the tournament. Polygraph tests may be given. Any angler who fails a polygraph test for cheating in a bass tournament or whose results are inconclusive shall not be eligible to compete in this open tournament. Judges will be the current officers of the Canyon Bass Club of San Marcos (CBC). Complaints must be submitted in writing before places are awarded. It is the responsibility of the winners not present at the awards presentation to contact the CBC within 60 days of the tournament for distribution of their awards. Prizes not claimed will become the property of CBC.
Launching and Trailering: Teams may launch from any ramp on Canyon Lake.
Fish lengths and limits: Only largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and Guadalupe bass and their hybrids, 14 inches long or longer, caught during official tournament hours will be weighed. Fish will be measured horizontally with the mouth closed and tail compressed. Any bass less than 14 inches that is weighed in will cause that team to be disqualified. The official measuring board of the tournament will be The Golden Rule. A courtesy board will be provided at the weigh-in. There will be a five (5) fish limit per team. Fish may not be pooled between teams. Each dead fish brought to the scale will result in a 0.25 lb. penalty to the overall weight.
Ties: If there is a tie, the cash prizes of the two or more consecutive places (Team or Big Bass division) will be combined and divided equally among the contestants.
Weigh-in/Check-in Procedures: All teams must check in and present their team I.D. number at the weigh-in site before 3:30 pm (the official time as determined by the CBC official clock). Teams will not be allowed to weigh in without checking in prior to 3:30 pm. Once a team checks into the designated CBC member, you may weigh in anytime before the last call (on or about 4:00 pm). Note: Teams must use weigh-in bags provided by CBC. NO exceptions! These will be distributed at the time of weigh-in in limited numbers. Keep fish in live wells until a weigh-in bag is provided.
Tackle and Equipment: Bass must be caught, by casting one rod at a time, using artificial lures only.
Team Rules: Each team will consist of no more than two anglers and they must fish from the same boat. It is the responsibility of each team to divide the prizes between the team members. Non-anglers may not accompany a team during the tournament hours.
Fish Handling: Every effort will be made to have a 100% live release. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will provide a weigh-in and release kit to assist with the weigh-in. A trophy fish may be retained for mounting purposes. Every effort will be made to keep the fish alive in a holding tank; however, the Canyon Bass Club of San Marcos accepts no responsibility for the survival.
Off Limits: The area located within 100 yards of the weigh-in site will be off limits to fishing during the tournament.
Safety: U.S. Coast Guard approved life vests must be worn and fastened to the kill switch used while the outboard motor is running.
